Danutin Forest

The Danutin Forest is located on a plateau that covers most of the continent to the northwest of Ludheim. The boundaries of the forest are well known only due to the numerous human lumber camps that supply much of the world with wood. The interior of the forest is unexplored by the civilized world but known to be home to several orc clans, goblin bands, and even a rumored feral clan of halflings. A great green dragon known as Charbone collects tithes from all who reside within the forest or on its boundaries. The dragon has shown a decided disinterest in the internal affairs of the forest denizens. Any resistance to the yearly collection of tithes is dealt with by a considerable amount of slaughter. Charbone appears to take a long term view of things and reasons that although less tithes will be collected in any given year in which he commits widespread slaughter, the lower creatures breed quickly and future resistance is less likely among any of their descendents. Whether Charbone is a member of the Dragon Council or merely a representative of an even greater dragon that sits on the council is unknown.
